Product Description: One of several books featured in the ‘Beyond Dickens’ exhibition, organised by the University of Portsmouth and curated by Ros Simms.
A 23 cm x 19 cm x 3.5 cm clamshell box, covered in a shimmering blue book-cloth. On the front is a laserprinted title page depicting images of miscellaneous items. Once opened, the book reveals a multitude of A5 foldies (which open to size of A3). They contain a variety of laser printed imagery, as well as various cut-out holes which reveal a peek of the artwork below.
The artist describes the publication: "Our artist's book was inspired by the Dickens book, with the title: The shop of curiosities.
We photographed curiosity shops in Porto Alegre, antique shops and we draw your objects...
Once we scanned the photos and drawings, we work also with digital manipulation and laser printed .
We are a group dedicated to artist's book and mail art. Each one of us put a thought about his work.
We are 18 women artists from Porto Alegre/RS/Brasil."
