Product Description: A multi-level piece printed upon a lightweight card prior to being mounted on handmade paper. It is difficult to identify the background scene. Plausibly, it may be a cityscape visualized in an extract manner and decorated with a bright color pallet.
The bind is extremely complex; it may categorized as a concertina but includes various cutouts. The cutout sections contain the type (“Every picture tells a story”), allowing the narrative to flow cohesively with the book, without being overwhelmed by the intense imagery.
To retain the book’s structure, a basic stab stitch bind has been used.

The first page contains the main character stationary and upright. Over each panel he is portrayed in a different position, demonstrating his flexibility. Each image has been silkscreen printed with dual layers (orange and grey).

Product description:  A self-contained, accordion-style artist book. When unfolded, the book extends to reveals a double-layered scene. In the foreground are five couples dancing, printed upon purple paper. Juxtaposing this is the yellow and black tiled background. The use of two layers creates a shadow, enabling a 3D-like perspective. To bind the two layers together, the artist uses a knotted stitch, the clustered fabric creates a tasselled affect.

Above the imagery, in block capitals, is the word ‘TANGO’. An introductory quote establishes the piece: “For the company to assemble at a late hour and engage in unusual, exciting and severe exercise throughout the entire night, is often too great a tax upon the physical system.”

A yellow is subsequently used to cover the books exterior whilst a yellow and black chequered pattern covers the tab.

Product description:  An A5, five-point, stab-stitched artist book.

The interior pages consist of various, detailed paper cuts of kitchen-based ephemera. On each page, you are given a glimpse of the possible implements that follow.

Coherence is achieved through the use of a dual colour palette (dark red and white). The inside covers contain an info-graphic detailing a robot’s technical specifications.

The artist describes the book as the following: “10 ordinary kitchen utensils which, when combined, give life to a new robot”.

“’Equal to Infinity’ was produce under the theme: ‘the search for the impossible’ – as set in Australia by the Noosa Regional Gallery as part of the yearly artists’ book exhibition”

The book is contained within a red, translucent pocket. A small postcard details the specifications of the book alongside a brief blurb.

September 2007. 10 ordinary kitchen utensils which, when combined, give life to a new robot. The final page reveals Lady Whisk- a real lady. The diagram on the inside cover shows her technical specifications.

It is boxed. Its use of repeat and cut out allows the viewer to peep through monotone type to colour type and image. The clever use of folding and large stitching gives a multilayered level to this clever book.
