Box of Worries

BOX OF WORRIES
Cheryl Ferguson, alumni of the School of Art, Design and Media

Description: A large scratched and rusting metal box which contains 22 loose pages of images on various hand made paper. Length 210 mm, Width 330mm, Depth 210mm. This book has a haunting feel as you open this harsh metal box to reveal a set of prints and photographic images which all relate to the theme of bullying. Barbie dolls encrusted with harsh metal objects and sharp objects used up against soft subtle fabrics attempt to project an empathy with the feelings of those that have suffered. Photographic images are used as layers on handmade papers of various textures and colours. There is the implication that it should be added to by other sufferers, that they should visualise their experiences and place them into the box.
